Now at days, America suffers from a lot of stereotyping and racism, which leads to a lot of violent crimes. Although one may not think about it, TV, media, and the film industry should be the most responsible for what is happening. Their influence on today's life is very critical because, at this era, everyone has a TV, and everyone goes to watch movies. Although it may sound like just a film, it makes others think unconsciously, and brainwash others. Although stereotyping is very useful in the film industry, it poses a big threat to America because it is so diverse. .
Now at days in the film industry, stereotyping is used in every other movie. For example: in the movie True Lies, there is a terrorist group threatening the US. Arabs played the roles that were played by the terrorist group. Although the conflict was between the Arab's and the US, their could have been other ways to show violence. In another movie, Love and Basketball, there was a men's basketball team. The main star, the leader of the team, was an African American. Although, the majority of sport players are African American, one should understand that anyone has the talent to do anything; white or black. .
Although this topic may be blind to the film industry, I believe that they should take action on what is happening. The reason for that is because, it poses a big threat to individuals, and also to countries. Although there already might be tension between certain races, gangs, or individuals, one should understand that if it would be more discreet, and not to the public, that it would destroy part of that tension. For example: in the movie Blood in Blood out, and many others, they show rival gangs fighting over race, and territory. Although it is true that there are conflicts between one another, the film industry should recognize that it is causing more drama and hate between people. Another reason that they should stop stereotyping is for the safety of countries; especially America.
