She wants to get away from her father who on saturday nights is usually in a drunken state and bad way.he takes Eveline's money to drink and gamble away, which she does not like.the dinner on sunday nights that he wants her to pay for she could do without, so she could care less really about what they eat, as long as everyone is soemwhat happy There is no one to protect her rom her fathers abusive ways except for frank, who she desperately wants to run awway with, and never coming back to mind after anyone.
Eveline would like to start her own life with a guy she cares deeply about, althogh still sort of a stanger to her, he is a better choice at the time. her life could improve and be better. Frank would take her to see, movies, walk her home from work show her love and affection, something she did not have very much of, the grass is not always greener on the other side, but in this circumstance I would say Eveline should want to go, and even if she did not go, at least she had a different view and something to look forwards too, No one really know's about how it is going to be, but for eveline anything has to be better then where she was at.
