Abortion Awareness

When many women get pregnant, they get scared, and automatically think abortion. Do they realize there is a BABY inside of them or think about the process that is done to remove it? I believe many women do not study the procedures related to abortions before going through with it. According to ReligiousTolerance.org, there are two main procedures for aborting a baby. These are non-surgical and surgical methods. The most widely used surgical abortion is manual vacuum. This method takes place in the first trimester of pregnancy and can be done using three different methods: suction curettage (vacuum aspiration); dilation and curettage (D & C); and dilation and evacuation (D & E). In all three methods, "the cervix is dilated" and in the suction curettage and D & C method the embryo is sucked out of the uterus. This power of the suction is comparable to a vacuum pump. With the D & C method, the uterus is scared then suctioned out and with the D & E method, the doctor uses "forceps to remove the fetus." Just like everything else in society, there is a more "convenient" type of abortion known as the RU-486 abortion pill. After a woman has determined she is pregnant and before 7 weeks of conception, RU-486 can be prescribed. RU-486, a pill combined with methotrexate and misoprostol that is normally used to treat tumors, arthritis, and psoriasis, is not being used for its anticipated use. Women who take this pill endure up to two weeks of cramps and bleeding until the embryo comes out. If there is any complication, the embryo will continue to grow and the baby will end up deformed and badly damaged. The process of these abortions, as you can see, can be painful and need to be taken into careful consideration.
With the knowledge of these various abortion methods, it is easy to see the potential danger it can cause. Many physical and emotional side-effects can result from having an abortion.
