Two Games Anight

            When high school basketball started it was just for men. Since then women have joined in on the fun. But until recently they have always played on different nights. Even though Region 8 school and athletic administration decided that the men and women should play the same team on the same night and same gym, which is absolutely ludicrous, because it created many more problems then it ever tried to fix.
             When the school and athletic board meet at the beginning of the school year they decided that the men and women basketball teams should play on the same night and in the same gym (Region 8 and 10). This is the most ridiculous thing to happen to the athletic programs since they began. In doing this they were trying to save time and money for the school and maybe even make some extra. People could go and watch a night full of basketball for the same price and see all the games they wanted. .
             In many different ways this was the worst thing that could have happened to the boys basketball program for our school. I mean sure people go and watch the girl's games, but honestly, at least three times as many people go to the guy's games. This hurts our program in a couple of ways. It divides the money from the people that come to watch our games with the girls. So that we will now only bring in maybe half as much money this year as we should have. .
             I say maybe because since we share our time with the girls they also get two out of the four home games we have, at seven o"clock. So this makes the guys play at five. This would be all right if most people that work for a living didn't get off work at or after five. The work force that usually comes to watch our games had time to go home and eat .
