Over some what 200 years, our Constitution has stand strong and never let us down. When it was created, many of our great framers spent lots of time to make this Constitution perfect and to make sure that it would work and it did. The 3 part of our constitution was that it's from the English Heritage like the Magna Carta, the experiences that we faced like when the May Flower Compact was created, and also the enlightenment when John Locke founded the idea of natural rights and for Baron de Montesquieu when he thought of the power should be separate among three branches.
When we took the ideas from the English Heritage, the Magna Carta gave us the idea of limiting the ruler's power so then he /she wouldn't get so many advantages over the settlers. The Magna Carta also said that what if you are a ruler and that you don't have to obey the law? There was also the English Bills of rights which listed many laws. There were many individual rights among every citizen and only if the defendant were to be trialed by jury not with any other specific way. These are one of the most important laws during the time when the British rules over the 13 colonies.
Through the colonial experience, the first house of the burgesses was founded in VA because like the English, colonist also wants a leader that would guide them over time. The May Flower Compact was first signed by the Pilgrim when they came to America for their own religious freedom. Later the May Flower Compact was believed to be the first article of self-government. State constitution was founded as a separation of power as an example that was put under Virginia and that they have more than one branch of government. Through these facts was not for the British but for the colonists" survival and believed that they have control over themselves and not turn toward British.
The Enlightenment was founded as a period of time when the Constitution was rewritten as to make it better.
