It's our beliefs, values and standards that we pride ourselves on. It's what we hold about ourselves that we can't change. They way one was brought up by their families standard and ethics represents culture through their background. .
In our class we have seen many movies that represent culture. Dr. Martin Luther King wanted to change the way people, of different races, were treated. Equality not segregation is the message he wanted to get across. He was brought up in a religious household and even he was a minister who preached the word of "Dreams". His dreams were what made him who he was. It was also what killed him!.
In the movie Miles from the border we learned a lot about a family and the struggles that they had in their daily life. They way Mexican women were portrayed was that many worked endless jobs at a bra factory just to put food on the table. Family traditions played an important role on the way I saw this movie. No one wanted to be a trader of their family's traditions. The message of this film was wherever you go never forget where you come from! .
Culture is not the arts, its not music it's who you are and who you will always be. It's the values, morals and high standards that you want to live up too. It's what you want to teach your children, the future of our society. .

Our text defines Communication as the sharing of thoughts, hope and knowledge with others.
