Opinion column discussing Movie/books of CWO and LOTR

Having just closed the cover saying "A Clockwork Orange" for the second time and with my mind messed up with slovos I was walking down the street just like Malcolm McDowell as the local cinema caught my attention. It struck me the Christmas hysteria was overshadowed by the Ring mysteria. White winter already covered the pavement but a week long line of brave fantasy fans in expendable sofas and big sweaters still stretched out all around the street corner. I uttered some appy polly loggy as I reached over a half asleep Frodo and picked up a bit of cut paper which caught my eye. In red capitals it said Elijah Woods Rules, behind in fading black was page 237 of The Fellowship of the Ring. .
J.R.R. Tolkien was long dead as Peter Jackson decided to start filming and Anthony Burgess was in need of money as he sold the rights to Stanley Kubrick. Whether or not Tokien and Burgess actually desired to have their works compressed, interpreted and cut remains a mystery. However, surely both Jackson and Kubrick viddy them self as geniuses, having attracted millions of cinema visitors, and gained does attractive millions, to. But little did it gain Burgess and Tolkien, and more importantly, does it gain the original artwork?.
A study conducted by Geoffrey Beattie, Professor of Psychology at Manchester University, shows that the brain finds audio visual images easier to process than either text or audio alone. This means audio visual messages are processed quicker and retained longer. Professor Geoffrey Beattie said of the study: "The brain simply likes telly. Even I am surprised at how powerful television has been proved to be." I can prove this is true by a very simple test, imagine Frodo for a second. Does he not look very much like Elijah Woods? At least he does to me. .
I do not mind at all that Christmas is overshadowed, actually, thank god. But as I reread "A Clockwork Orange" my old character imaginations were shadowed and instead I saw Kubricks cast and heard Walter Carlos synthesized anthems playing in the background as Burgess described music.
