My goal is to pursue an education that will allow me to build a career based on helping people who newly immigrated to the United States. I am particularly interested in becoming an immigration lawyer, advising Non-U.S. citizens solve their troubles and frustrations while trying to make a living in the United States. Being a part of diverse school will provide me with the knowledge and confidence to use my abilities to solve complex, real world problems.
I mostly want to help immigrants get their U.S papers. After watching so many people spend enormous amount of money and compromise their lives just to live in America for the benefit of their kids, I thought I would like to make this a profession. Hopefully, I will enjoy doing this and I will make a difference in the lives of those struggling to be here. The U.S is filled with foreigners but without them America would not be where it is now. Different cultures bring a variety of interests and talents to America. For these immigrants not having this one piece of paper, could stop them from accomplishing so much individually. My efforts as an immigration lawyer could help change all that.
Another challenge for immigrants is trying to obtain a quality education. In the U.S. we have public schools, where everyone and anyone is allowed to attend, and the education is free. Sadly, more than 50% of the teenagers do not make it to college, because they drop out of high school or cannot afford to pay for college. In the third world countries only the rich can afford to get an education. Then , after graduating they want to come to the U.S to go to college, but a visa is not permitted to them. People always work harder to get things when its not handed to them. Education is free here and there are so many opportunities to get a scholarship and make it through college, but yet the kids here do not take advantage of that. On the other hand, immigrants seem quite optimistic about coming to the U.
