Today at Wal-Mart, you can just about buy anything. From cloths to car tires, Wal-Mart makes shopping convenient and helps you save money. I am here to tell you a little about Wal-Mart and why you should shop at Wal-Mart and make it one of your stores.
I. First we need to know about some history of Wal-Mart.
A. In 1962, the Company was founded by Sam Walton with the opening of first Wal-Mart in Rogers, Ark.
1. According to time.com Sam Walton is probably one of the smartest business men ever seen.
2. and the reason why for that is in 1966, when he had over 20 stores, he hired a computer guy from IBM to computerize his operations so he can grow at his own pace. And because of this, Wal-Mart became the icon it is today. And was known to be one of the first business to use a computer database. Wal-Mart also has the 2nd largest computer database, right below the pentagon's.
B. In 1971, Wal-Mart expanded and had over 30 stores in five states: Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri and Oklahoma .
C. over the course of 20 years Wal-Mart kept expanding and became a nationwide store. And in 1991, Wal-Mart became a world wide corporation by starting a store in Mexico City.
D. About four years later, in 1995, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. hade over 1,995 Wal-Mart stores, 239 Supercenters, 433 SAM'S CLUBS and 276 International stores with sales at $93.6 billion and over 675,000 associates.
E. And in 2003, Wal-Mart ranked number 1 by FORTUNE magazine in its FORTUNE 500.
II. Why you should shop at Wall Mart.
A. Fist of all, Wal-Mart is convenient.
1. As I said earlier, there are over 2,000 stores. So pretty much in any major town or city, there is a Wal-Mart. And with so many stores, Wal-Mart is pretty convenient to get too, and within a good driving distance. Like for example there are two Wal-Mart's within a 10 min drive from here.
B. Wall Mart carries a huge Variety of items.
1. When you go into Wal-Mart and just want to buy one thing, you will end buying more items than what you plan to get because basically they have everything in there, and you think of things that you need to get.
