The Ancient Egyptians were inventors , scientist , and great mathematicians. In this paper you will learn more about ancient Egyptian inventions and achievements. They created the first calendar , simple machines , and of course , pyramids. .
Did you know the Egyptians created the first calendar They invented the 365 day year that way they would have a better way of tracking large amounts of time . The Ancient Egyptians found a way to measure weights , heights , lengths , and volume .They were the first to know how the human body functions. These are examples of how the kept track of things and how they treat sick or injured people .
The Egyptians had a good irrigation system for picking up large amounts of water at a time , so they could give water to their crops. The simple machine was a long pole with a huge mud slab on one end of the pole. The other end had a huge bucket on it. There was another pole that was much shorter then the other one. That pole was dug into the ground , three quarters of it stuck up. Then the Egyptians leaned the larger pole against the shorter pole that was sticking out of the ground. So now the mud slab is on the side away from the water. The bucket should be on the side above the water. Then they leaned the pole into the water and filled up the bucket. Then they used the mud slab to help pull the bucket out of the water. The idea for the pole on top of the other one was for leverage. That was how they got a large amount of water to the crops.
One of the great achievements of the ancient Egyptians was The Great Pyramid.
They made the pyramid for King Khufu. The pyramid mid took over 20 years to make. The pyramid stood over 450 ft. high. The pyramid was made over 4,500 years ago. There was no machinery to help the Egyptians. They struggled to put stones in place. Next to The Great Pyramid were three smaller pyramids of King Khufu's wives. The pyramid was made of lime stones.
