A large group of professionals believe that animal testing is the only way to get anywhere in the developed in cures and vaccinations. The sad thing is that many people against testing, quickly chance their minds when new developments come around. For example, elimination the plague of Polio came from animal testing. In the 1950's, thousands of Americans, many of them children and young adults, were crippled or paralyzed by polio. But thanks to Albert Sabin in the 1960's, he put an end the fear by coming up with a vaccine. His development of this was found through animal testing and nothing else. His vaccine took the lives of many animals, but for their deaths ended up saving millions and millions of human lives. That proves that animal experimentation is not wealth the pain and suffering right? Wrong, the pain and suffering of these millions of animals, has solved one of the most feared diseases at that time. If animals can be used to find a vaccine for Polio in the 1960's, why can't they be used for find cures for all types of cancers and other death threatening sicknesses. That's why animal experimentation most continue no one knows how many cures could be found through these tests. So if animal testing was ended uncountable lives will be lost because a lack of ambition to push forward with research. .
A weak point in the idea of animal testing is how easily animals are tested and just pull to death. Sometimes these animals in suffer through the rest of their lives with no relief. Even though the death of animals isn't good helping with the pain would be a plus. Researchers don't go out or their way to give these animals some kind of pain relief. All it would take is a little shot or pill in their food to make the test much less painful.
