Hawaii

The fiftieth state in the United States of America is Hawaii. The Hawaiians want independence from the United States. They want to be their own separate country. I don't think they should be allowed to just leave the United States. I feel both countries would be affected in bad ways by them leaving. The Hawaiian islands are an important part of the United States and should be kept part of the country. .
One way both countries would be affected, given Hawaii leaving the US is the economy. Hawaii would have a struggling economy. Although they get all the visitors, the money system would most likely be changed. this would cause for money to be spent to make new money, distribute the money and take time for everyone to understand it. Also, they would have to support themselves. There would be no federal aid, or any other aid unless they got foreign aid from us. If they did that however it would defeat the purpose of leaving to just become a weak poor nation. Also it would affect the United States because all the revenue and taxes we get from Hawaii wouldn't be there for us. If Hawaii leaves the US then our economy and theirs would be greatly affected. .
Another reason for Hawaii not to leave is its military strength. If it were to ever come under attack or be invaded by someone, they wouldn't have the strength. They may have an army but not enough to hold back an army that wants the land bad enough. Japan for instance would have a powerful enough army to take over Hawaii if they really wanted to. If someone did take over Hawaii after they left the United States then Hawaii would be right back where they started. Also most nations probably wouldn't respect Hawaii as much as we do. Hawaii lacking military strength is another reason it shouldn't leave the United States. .
Hawaii also would need to have a very well established government. They already have their state government set up.
