Inter-Personal Communication

In "Sonny's Blues" by James Baldwin, Baldwin sent Sonny and his brother on a quest to find the inter-personal communication that broken them apart. Sonny tried to live out his life the way he wanted to, and became a drug user and a delinquent. His brother, who was left to watch out for him, tried to be a provider for his family. In the beginning, Sonny and his brother had weak communication. As their life continued, their communication grew stronger with time.
While he read along in a newspaper, the narrator found that his brother was arrested for heroin. He was alarmed by what he read and had no response at first. He couldn't find it in himself to believe that his brother would do such a thing considering the life he has made for himself. While he read upon this article, he started to feel a connection between him and his brother. He finally began to bring into his mind an understanding of Sonny.
After the newspaper incident, his brother wrote a letter to Sonny and Sonny responded. The connection grew stronger every time they communicated . From then on they kept in constant touch. Sonny's brother sent him whatever he could. Finally, the brothers met, and their relationship came together more. The whole time he wondered about Sonny and what has made him the way he was. He couldn't really figure it out. The brothers" uniting brought a different side out of each of them. When they drove along the city in a taxi, they rode between the great parks and the massive buildings, and all their feelings were unraveling.
After being connected even more the brothers got a kind of understanding of each other. They traveled along and went to a bar, Which Sonny's brother had never been to. At this bar, Sonny's brother started to learn the meaning of life to Sonny. Sonny's brother learned this through the music that Sonny and his friends played on the bandstand. He actually found new strength and acceptance for Sonny.
