Wind Power

The world has many ways of using energy to turn it into electricity. Using wind power is one way we produce electricity. In some people's opinion, wind power is the best way to produce electricity, but opinions vary.
Even though not everyone agrees that using wind power is the best method of producing electricity, there are many pros about it. A good thing about using wind power is that the turbines, or the machine that converts wind power into electricity, is not very loud. Therefore, they can be used without being distractingly noisy. Turbines are also very safe compared to other methods of producing electricity. For example, in an emergency, turbines can be dismantled easily. There are not any hidden cost when you build or use turbines. After technology has improved, the cost for turbines will most likely decrease. Also, unlike a few other ways to produce electricity, such as using coal, using wind power will always be possible because wind is a renewable resource. .
There are also some cons about using wins power. Speed of wind varies, so you may not recieve the same amount of power at all times. Although turbines are mostly safe, the spinning blades do occasionally kill migrating birds. Turbines do produce energy, but thousands of turbines are needed to be effective, and these turbines take up a large amount of land. A large amount of turbines can interfere with radio and television signals. If a person wanted to build a more effective turbine, that person would need to buy a larger and more expensive turbine. Even one of the larger turbines would not produce enough energy to be effective. .
Control systems are needed to take care of different problems that turbines generally have. Older control systems only take care of a few of these problems. Newer control systems are computerized. .
