That is why old people only eat fast food once in while. To working people, spending a few dollars a day on fast food is not a big thing, but to not working people, like old people, that is a huge problem. If old people spend too much money on fast food, they will not have enough money to pay for their bill.
Young people have more ability to go out to eat than old people do. If old people want to eat a hamburger, they have to go to a fast food restaurant. However, a fast food restaurant is not always near their house. In fact, the fast food company usually does not build their restaurants in the senior location, because they know that old people do not spend a lot of money on fast food. Suppose that the only fast food restaurant near where old people live is five blocks away. With their physical strength, it might take them hours to walk there. In addition, most old people do not drive because their ability to react when driving is slower than young people do. They know that is very dangerous for them to drive. Besides, they do not have lot of money for using a car. So, even if old people want to eat fast food, it is very difficult for them to buy it unless someone else buys it for them. I remember one time that I worked in a senior building. Once a week, one person came to the building to help senior people buy groceries. Because of their limited ability, old people usually cook their meals at home. That is what they have to do, because they have no other choice. However, it is opposite with young people. In a same situation, young people can walk to the restaurant that is five blocks away, in a short time.
