To tell the truth, there cannot be a simple answer to this question, like "Yes" or "No", because everything depends on when to be honest, how to be honest, with whom to be honest and what do we mean when we say "to be honest".
Lets start with "when to be honest". As for me, I don't think that I"m a person, who always tells the truth (like a stupid truth-teller), but I can't say I"m an outright liar. Sometimes I think it's even funny for me to act like a fibber: because by this I can see the person's reaction to my words - for example if I want to test the person's feelings for me or when I want to hear the opinion of this person about another man. Telling a fib is also useful when you don't want to be honest with a very curious person - just on principle. And you can do even more by tissuing web of lies - you can make people know about you only things you want them to know, not only truth, - and by this you may become a two-faced person. Though I"m sure all of us have something inside that others better shouldn't know, I think it's better to omit some facts than to be a consummate liar which surely makes life much more difficult to live through.
But when do I tell the truth? Let me think Our world is getting more and more complex and it is getting difficult to tell exactly: is something lies or truth? It's easy to tell the truth when you are asked simple questions like "What time is it now?" or "What is your name?" , but when we face more difficult questions like the parents" question "Where were you last night?" we lie without blinking an eye almost every time.
From written above one can conclude that I"m a habitual liar, but I try to be honest, upon my word, as much as possible. But I just hate when people ask me the questions that I have to answer when I don't want to. In this case I have only one way out - to lie, lie and lie.
