In today's society, we are seeing more and more instances of murder. These murders are not limited to those committed by criminals in back alley's and in war zones. They are committed in our hometowns, both large and small, and the people committing these murders are being paid for their services. These murders are called "abortions". .
The abortion rate among American Teenagers has drastically increased, due in part, to irresponsibility, lack of maturity, selfishness, and as a simple means of birth control. Today, the teenagers in our country, as well as those from around the world are seemingly more careless with their sexuality. Teens are engaging in promiscuous activity with partners who are merely acquaintances. The fact that few teenagers take any responsibility for their actions is a major contributing factor in the increasing number of unwanted pregnancies. Even the approach of parents whose teens have become "accidentally" pregnant is as nonchalant and irresponsible of an attitude as their children. It's as if they only care and think about covering up or eliminating the "mistake" and give no thought as to the long term repercussions, both emotionally and morally. Furthermore, when an unexpected/unwanted pregnancy occurs, very few parties involved give even a thought to the fact that one of the horrific side effects of unprotected sex is a major factor in the increasing cases of sexually transmitted diseases. .
The immaturity of the parties involved is also a factor. Very few teenagers are prepared for the financial and emotional elements involved in unexpected pregnancies. Most teenagers are still financially dependent on the parents and are not able to assume the responsibility of financially raising a child in a proper manner. Their emotions are still at a teenage level, where they are selfish and consumed with being a teen and enjoying life without the burden and capability of raising a child.
