Students who drop out of school lose a lot and regret what they have done . Dropping out of school will never be acceptable or justified. When this occur, they are only stealing valuable information from themselves. Even though dropping out of high school does not help you gain anything, it is obvious that the rate is increasing in many high school. High school students mainly drop out due to family problems, low self-esteem, and drugs.
Having family problems causes a lot of students to drop out of school. One problem can be espousal and/ or child abuse. Melanie is a small town girl, her father was usually beating on her mother while she was not there. This made her come to the conclusion to drop out of school so she could protect her mother. Another example is abuse to children. Lakethia father had a bad attitude and every time she would even look at her dad wrong he would sock her in the face. An additional problem is that the student can not get enough attention from their parents. Some feel like they have to receive attention from there relatives. If their love ones does not take interest on what they are doing they tend to drop out to receive attention whether it is good or bad. Family problems are just one reason a student may drop out of school.
Young adults who have low-esteem are scared to even attend school. Ignorance can really disarray someone's mind. Janet, a seventeen year old junior, was ignorant to a lot of educational things. Just because she had problems in math and she would only make D's on all of her science test she would skip school and that later resulted in dropping out of school. Janet was ignorant to the fact that everyone has problems in a variety of subjects one way or another. Christina ended up dropping out because of her personal or physical appearance. She did not like her shape and every time someone would make a mean comment about it she would check her self out school early.
