Throughout the entire world utilizing the resources of countries outside of the United States is becoming more and more important. It is becoming almost a necessity to take advantage of the opportunities that lie outside of the borders in the United States. Countries like Mexico, China, and Taiwan are becoming very valuable economically to the business practices of American Companies. When dealing with other countries there are obviously some varying issues that any American company has to consider. Some issues like human resources, politics, and cultural issues can automatically decide for any company if they will want to set up shop outside of the United States. For me personally I have interned in a factory in the United States and at Electrocomponentes which is a factory in Mexico. So I know first hand what a lot of issues are and to an extent learned how to deal with those issues successfully. In this paper I am going to analyze the various issues that have concerns with doing business outside of the United States and try to give some insight on how to correct these issues from some of my own first hand knowledge. There are many benefits to doing business outside of the United States but there can be quite a few consequences as well. The trick is to find out what works for your company and try to capitalize on those things and hope the rest just falls into place. Any company wishing to do business outside of the United States has to remember that wherever they are going is not the United States so no matter what you should be ready for anything, because it just might happen.
Probably the biggest and most obvious complications that can arise from doing business outside of your own country are a language barrier. Companies are paying thousands of dollars every year to individuals that have taken the time to learn how to communicate in a language other than English. The most commonly learned language for the business world is Spanish.
