I believe everybody would agree that being a child is quite a challenge. I mean, a little human entering a huge and, frankly speaking, very unfriendly world must learn a lot to succeed in his or her life. The most important, I would say, vital information they must get is about the society, they are about to enter. Adults, who have greater experience and knowledge of life, are always near and eager to help: parents, friends and relatives, school and college teachers, as well as book writers. In two short stories "A Mother's Tale- by James Agee and "The Lesson- by Toni Cade Bambara authors impart with readers their own special meanings about life and society. No two leaves in the world are exactly the same, so are human beings. Therefore, beliefs of people depend on individuals. In terms of the best way of learning about life, some people may turn to the advice of Agee and Bambara, while others might prefer to acquire the meaning of life through their own private experience. No one have right to judge the beliefs and morals of other people, so it will be better first to examine what lessons do each author tries to convey, and then on the base of their massages I will draw my conclusion of my way of foundations about life and learning.
From the story "A Mother's Tale- I've learned that an old cow, representing an old and respectful personage, tells her siblings a story about the one who had miraculously escaped the death and returned to his motherland to open the eyes of nave herds on their meaning of life. I believe, that the words about freedom, independence and rebellion, he tried to convey to his brothers and sisters, are the most important in the whole story, but his words are quite opposite to the words of the mother about calm and steady life. .
At first, I was quite inspired and moved by the last desperate appeal of dying creature. "Tell them! Believe!- were his last dying words that were "clearly remembered- and passed and discussed through generations, but still they had not found their listeners and were considered "just things- anyone could "hardly bear even to think of.
