In most of the national across the globe it is customary to have alcohol as a part of every day life and used for celebratory purposes. However there are those who wish to see it banished to the history books. During the course of this essay I will attempt to illustrate the need for alcohol to play its part in societies worldwide in the near future.
Those who wish to see alcohol banned from sale cite it as the cause for violence and other crimes like rape. It is quite clear that incidents of thugary and sexual indecency would still be as apparent in some people's genetic make up, with or without a few beers and brandies. Slapping bans on an aspect of human enjoyment would do very little to stop these crimes occurring in the future. The vast majority of people who drink do so to enjoy themselves and relax. Stooping people from doing this would be wrong and restrictive on people's liberties.
In today's society many people enjoy a good drink, to take that away from people is not only wrong and unjustified, it would also start civil-unrest and a black market. Prohibition in the 20's and 30's in the United States serves a great reminder of the underworld trade, ran by mobsters like Al Capone, which would be instantly created, should alcohol vanish from our lives. These underworlds are an unavoidable part our societies, through the correct banning, of weapons and drugs but we do not need more monsters steeling the money of those who wish to enjoy a simple human pleasure. .
If alcohol was to be banned there would be thousands, who would find themselves out of work, in brewers, pubs, clubs, advertising and sporting fields, not to mention the loss to the national economy the government gross through tax. Those who have built vibrant and successful businesses not just in pubs but in areas such as distribution don't deserve to have their economic security snatched from them for no good reason.
