Sweatshop Warriors

.
             Chinese Immigrants.
In China, sweatshops are primarily focused around garment work but they are not the only workers that are subjected to long hours, low wages and unsafe working conditions. Many women in China also work in restaurants, hotels, recovery homes and other menial jobs. .
In China everyone spoke the same language, the paths of communication were open and this made it possible to have control over some of the working conditions. These sweatshop workers were not individuals they were a family struggling together. If one person was treated unfairly they all were and were not afraid to change it. In American however, everyone is competition and every one is their own individual. It is true, sweatshops do exist in America and the workers still face the same hardships as they did in third world countries. America is supposed to be the land of opportunity so it's understandable why people think they can make a better life for themselves and their families. However, it's not all of what it's cracked up to be. Immigrants often spend years trying to work off their cost of traveling to the United States. They are housed in unsanitary, crowded and infested corners with an infinite number of other immigrants. In some cases they are even deprived of some of their basic rights; they are forced to sleep and eat at certain times along with forced contraceptive options. Even after they finish paying off their debts they in most cases are even worse off after; they struggle to find housing they can afford, food to eat, and to support a family that is a given in some cultures. .
             Mexican Immigrants.
The United States annexed half of Mexico's territory by seizing Texas in 1836 which is what launched the Mexican-American war. Since the war Mexicans have served as a primary labor force for the United States economy and the immigrants also helped Mexico's economy by foreign exchange, oil, and tourism.
