Reality: The Matrix

Also in this scene, the audience is introduced to Neo's illegal operation of selling computer programs, likely to be viruses, to customers who describe him as their "savior" and their "own personal Jesus Christ". This alludes to his destiny though not yet clearly stated in the film. Neo poses a question asking, "do you ever get that feeling where your not sure if your awake or still dreaming?", which again illustrates Heraclitus" argument that man acts as though "asleep" and in a world of their own. .
The next scene introduces Neo and Trinity in a swanky club. She is there to warn him about something which is not very clear. She only says that "they are watching you". Their conversation then turns to the purpose of their encounter. She tells him "I know why you are here why u hardly sleep why you sleep at your computer night after night, searching Looking for him, I was looking for the same thing, when he found me-. I think it is important to point out that although she, and apparently he, both are actively looking for "him", he finds them. "I was looking for an answer, It's the question that drives us Neo You know that question?" Neo responds, "What is the matrix". Trinity again states "The answer is out there and it will find you if you want it". This illustrates the recurring theme in the movie that there is an ultimate reality but man is unable to reach it on his own, rather, he must be shown the way. .
The next scene shows him oversleeping and turning off his alarm which reads 9:18 am. I think its important to point out that the number 18 in numerology is 9+9 which gives the alarm clock reading 999, which can be seen as 666 and maybe alludes to him waking up in his "reality" which is hell. He arrives at work to be disciplined by his boss for being late. He is described as a piece in the company making up the whole, and his faults could bring down the company.
