David Copperfield, Mr. Micawber

Micawber's knack for getting into drama makes him a memorable character in David Copperfield.
Micawber's role in exposing Uriah Heep was grandiose. Mr. Micawber got so thrilled when he was trying to talk about Uriah's bad deeds that he didn't use his extravagant language that he was used to using. It's also extremely interesting that Mr. Micawber managed to stumble upon all of the evidence that was needed to prove that Uriah had been committing so many crimes. It's really strange that the first thing Mr. Micawber did after finding all of the evidence (Uriah's little black book, forged documents, the trickery of Mr. Wickfield, etc.) was to tell Tommy Traddles and David Copperfield what was going on (instead of going straight to the police). Mr. Micawber told David in his letter that he wanted to meet with him, and at their meeting Mr. Micawber told them that he was about to expose Uriah Heep's thievery and forgeries. Mr. Micawber was thorough in his investigation of Uriah Heep, because a normal person most likely would not find all of the different pieces of evidence that he had managed to collect. People to whom he owed money were knocking on his door at all hours of the day and night looking for him, but he always managed to sneak away. He was arrested and taken to King's Bench Prison (which was a debtor's prison) for the enormous amount of debt he had accumulated. Later on in David Copperfield Mr. Micawber was arrested for an I.O.U. that he had written to Uriah Heep (who had been his employer at that time) that he hadn't repaid (Mr.
