Authors often write about what they know. Whether the knowledge is of a personal nature or is linked to some kind of world events, a writer tends to create based on his or her personal experiences. Thomas Malthus wrote about his times with critical essays and investigation writings. The writing reflects his times by talking about the high price of provisions and explanations of famine and war. Malthus was an economist so he would often lend his expertise to a situation that people could have a hard time grasping, some of the situations could be why current prices are high and political economy.
Thomas Malthus had a life that was lengthy for the time period in which he lived in. his life began on February 2, 1766 in Dorking, Surrey, which is south of London, here is where he grew up for up to the middle teenage years before he went off to college and studied abroad, in his 68 year lifetime he specialized in economics and political science. With knowledge in these particular areas he wrote essays and books about the current times in pieces such as The Measure of Value Stated and Illustrated. His life was ended on December 23,1834. In Malthus's early years he was the sixth of seven children and was born into a semi wealthy family (Thomas Robert Malthus). Being the sixth of seven children could be looked at as the reason behind his reasoning of the basic theory of his essay on the principle of population. This world-renowned essay basically said that food supply rises as time goes on but so does the population of people just at a much faster rate.
Daniel Malthus, Tomas Malthus's father, played a humongous role in Malthus's life. Daniel Malthus can be basically described as an unconventional, open-minded landowner. Daniel went to school where he studied philosophy and botany. Malthus's father also had the tremendously uncommon opportunity to meet and be acquaintances with the not yet world wide known Rousseau and David Home (Thomas Robert Malthus).
