I'm very confident in my career goals: I love music. I started my primary instrument on the tuba in 6th grade and was oblivious at the time of how music would greatly impact and guide my life. As I developed a talent, I discovered how great it felt to be able to produce beautiful music. Music is an expression of feelings and emotions; having the ability to personally convey the emotions through an instrument is priceless. I love music because of how satisfying and rewarding it is. Music is my inspiration and performing is the greatest feeling in the world. Through the years I have gained a great appreciation for music theory, history, and composition. I also have widely expanded my instrumentation to flute, piccolo, euphonium, trombone, and some percussion. Through music I have befriended very unique individuals, who have helped me establish and confirm my individuality. In college I will aspire to be a part of the marching band, symphony, orchestra, and any other available music-related activity. My career will definitely involve composing, teaching, and performing. .
While I have high goals set in mind for myself, the paths for these goals will bear a large financial burden on my family. I have a lot of aspirations and expectations of myself that I hope to procure through college, but my only hindrance in the amount of money required to attend. I have worked diligently for the past four years and have maintained above a 4.0 GPA with intentions of going to a 4 year university and earning a college degree. Financially my family is less than comfortable and will severely struggle while putting me through college. .
My real father bears no financial contribution to the upbringing of my two sisters and I. He is unemployed living in Southern California, and has neglected to pay even one child support payment. He owes my mother over 100,000 dollars in back child support. My mother was unable to attend college and therefore has a low wage salary of 34,000 dollars a year.
