Huck Finn in modern soceity

            Mark Twain is arguably one of the greatest writers of all time because his work has been able to stand the test of time. This is because views expressed in his writings, are still being experienced today for example; Mark Twain expresses the issue of unnecessary violence, when he talks about the Grangerfords and Shepherdsons who are constantly fighting for no particular reason. This exists in our society too, for example the gang violence that is seen among teenagers in America, recent statistics show that 28.8% of gang members, don't know why they are constantly fighting with their rival gangs just like the Grangerfords and the Shepherdsons do in Huck Finn.
             Twain also brings out the idea of, things that we consider morally wrong to be right in certain situations. He illustrates this by making readers like Huck who has qualities of an immoral person but considering his situation, most of the readers believe that Huck is justified to doing the things he does because of the situation that he is in. This can be compared to the fact America is killing Iraqis which normally would be seen as a crime but considering America's situation it's not seen as a crime but a liberal act! .
             Twain talks about fraud when he writes about the Duke and King who try to commit fraud but are caught. Fraud and theft are rampant in our society today this is seen in cases whereby people apply for credit cards in other people's names. Racism is also evident in today's society although it's not as much as it was during Twain's time.
