The Importance of Art in Educating Youngsters

Some art projects are integrated in lessons to help develop a better understanding of the material to be learned. For example, as part of a science lesson, the children might collect various items such as leaves, sticks, berries, or acorns during a nature walk and later use them to design decorative collages or picture frames. Learning centers or corners should be set up in the classrooms stocked with a wide selection of materials that can be utilized in a variety of ways for creating projects. Easels should also be set up for either painting individually or with a partner. Creativity is learned through good art projects. By transforming objects such as Popsicle sticks, egg cartons, or empty containers into imaginary things, a child learns to discover that the world of play is controlled by his own imagination. Using materials in art projects allows one to reinforce and expand on information they have already learned. The student develops trial and error skills, social skills, cooperative group dynamics, self-esteem, and fine-motor skills through the creation of these different projects.
Playing outdoors is a work art of its own kind. A child learns through interacting with others, gaining and sharing information and accomplishing things either on their own or with another classmate. When children play outside, they usually involve themselves in various activities like playing in the sand, racing, hide and seek, or other various games that require the use of imagination and/or creative play. Each game or activity has certain skills that are learned and the children benefit, especially since they love to participate in each one. When children have to compete in teams, they learn to contribute to joint efforts as well as how to solve a problem by working together to find a solution. .
Another work of art children enjoy would be cooking. A child tends to like the final product but do not always agree to participate in the process and clean-up.
