Do the dead have a spirit? If the living possess a soul, then why not the dead? Where do living spirits of the dead go? The poem "Spirits of the Dead" by Edgar Allen Poe attempts to tackle this very controversial matter. That the phrase "Thy soul shall find itself alone- alone of all on earth- Unknown" means we can never be fully understood or belong. Two styles used in the poem would be symbolism and irony. The one thing that no one will understand or be part with you is your dying moment of rebirth.
