             In the story, "The Red Badge of Courage", there are three very important key lessons to be learned. One key lesson that is learned is that you should do what you think is right. The second key lesson that is learned here is that you shall never give up. And the third and final key lesson that is learned in this story is after a while, you will do the right thing. Now here, in more detail, is what I consider are the three most important elements of the story in my estimation.
             The first key lesson that is learned from the story is that you should do what you think is right. At the beginning of the story, Henry enlists in the army because he said he wanted to be a hero. But his mom thought otherwise. Henry's mom did not want him to enlist the army because she did not agree with that. So when she found out that he enlisted into the army, she was not happy. All she said was just follow with your instincts. And listening to what she said, he went into the army.
             The second lesson that is learned from the story is that you shall never give up. Well, while he is fighting his first battles, he gets really scared. He sees people get shot with weapons and seeing other people dying. Well after he sees all this he just drops his gun and runs away.
