Sexual intercourse really isn't supposed to happen until marriage, but now children are doing it in middle school. There are several classes on sexual education, but those classes are only held in high school. But children do not want to wait that long to know about it, so they are experiencing it even earlier. Children may think that it is all right for them to be having sex. But the most common reason for having sex would have to be peer pressure. By the seventh grade, children are beginning to wonder about sex and are not hesitating to find out what it is like. Even though boys and girls mature at different times, both sexes tend to have sex before they reach puberty. The problem may begin as the lack of education in sexual situations, but it is not just information. If more parents would talk to their children early about sex, and let them know everything they want to know, then children would have good sense and delay their first sexual experience. But parents who are afraid to talk to their children about sex are actually speeding up their children's decision to have sex. .

SCHOOL-AGED CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS:.
Sex has always been an issue in today's society. Many people feel as though sex should be postponed until marriage, but today, morals are changing. Nowadays, more children are having sex, and they are having it younger. A recent national study estimated that about twenty percent of all children 14 and younger have had sex (Carpenter & Elizabeth, 2003). But what confuses most people is what is making these children do it at such a young age. Based on the media, what they see on television, and what they read, children think that they are supposed to be having sex and that it is all right. The children are having sex because they think that everyone else is doing it, and they are doing it to fit in. When children attend parties nowadays, it isn't the same old party where boys are on one side and girls are on the other.
