It seems as if Cagnolatti had provided American Idol with a fake Social Security number as well. "If you were desperate and didn't believe in yourself you might do something like that" (qtd. EJay Day). Being desperate and not believing in yourself has nothing to with why a person would want to lie about their age. Maybe Delano wanted his talent to be discovered just like everybody else's. Cagnolatti was replaced by EJay Day. In my opinion, the age restrictions placed on contestants by American Idol are ridiculous. Contestant Corey Clark was disqualified for allegedly beating up his younger sister and resisting arrest. In my opinion all people have done things in their past that they may regret now, but according to Simon pop stars should have a bit of "bad boy" in them, but this goes a bit far. Fox also made a statement that "Corey's behavior warrants his disqualifications." Agreeing with the statement that Fox made, Corey's behavior towards his sister could affect his attitude and behavior towards the other female contestants on the show and that was a risk that Fox did not want to take. Contestant Jared Andrews was disqualified because he had an assault charge. In looking at the case, its found hard to believe that Jared had only been charged with simply a misdemeanor assault when he could have just as easily been charged with involuntary manslaughter since the man was dead (Reality News 03 Feb. 2003). Based upon my revision of the police report Jared did not cause the man's death so he should not have been disqualified from the show, but he should have also explained to the producers about this situation. Contestant Frenchie Davis was disqualified because she posed for porn pictures. Frenchie posed topless and apparently was masturbating on a Website called "Daddy's Little Girl.
