It can be a change that is political, social, economic, cultural or technological. Revolutions change the way people live. There were many revolutions throughout history. The one that will be introduced to you in this essay is Chinese Revolution.
Chinese Revolution happened in 1949. There were many events that caused the revolution. Chiang Kai-Shek was the leader of nationalist government and Mao Zedong was the leader of communist group. Nationalist government was trying to suppress the communists and eliminated them. Civil War started in 1927 between these two groups. Communist was driven to the interior of China. In 1934, the Communist started "Long March", a retreat, until late 1935. When Japanese invaded China in 1937, the two parties agreed to cooperate to defeat their common enemy. After the war with Japanese was over, the Civil War resumed. Chiang gradually lost his support as the government seemed to be corrupted and dictatorial. While Chiang was losing his support, Mao started gain supports from peasants, women and other people.
In 1949, Mao took over China and the Nationalist escape to Taiwan and set up a government in Taipei. This revolution was caused by many reasons. The Nationalist government seemed too dictatorial because some strict rules still remained. Women didn't really gain equality with men under the Nationalist government. The idea provided by Communist seemed to give poor people some advantages. It insisted to prove the right of women. People then favored in Communist and brought out the revolution. Mao gained power of communist party. He started to build up China.
The immediate effect was that the government changed from Republic to Dictatorship. The policies changed and the way people lived changed. People had to adapt the new policies. They lost their political right while they seemed to gain some equality. Communists discourage the study of idea of Confucius.
