Also if you go back to the time of the Romans, in the last 200 years of the Roman Empire, many battles were fought on the outskirts of the Roman Empire with tribes of people who congregated in the area now known as Germany. Russia also has just as a comparable violent history as Germany. The French and British also have an incredibly violent history. Since about the creation of there governments, Kings and Queens have been getting there heads chopped of. Also there have been numerous wars between the two countries over disputes of land and culture. And the list of countries with violent histories goes on and on. .
Another possible reason to why our country has over 11,000 homicides a year from guns is the music we listen to and the video stimulation (movies, T.V., video games, etc ) we receive. It is true that our culture has violent video stimulation. However, we are not the only country with violent video stimulation. For instance, Japan has just as much as our country if not more. Almost all violent video games are created by companies originating in Japan. If you look at a video gaming magazine it will show that these violent games are released in Japan before America. Violent Kung-Fu T.V. shows have been around since the 60's in Japan and America, so has cartoons. Nearly all violent movies that are watched by American children can also be seen in Japan. This holds true for Canada also. Both Japan and Canada have violent movies that are watched daily and violent video games that are played daily. But Japan has less than 40 homicides from guns a year and Canada has less than 160. Some argue that Marilyn Manson's music is to blame. But if this is true, then why are there people with high intelligence that listen to classical music and kill people. This argument is easily defeated when we examine the fact that both the Columbine shooters, Eric and Dylan, are bowlers.
