Compare And Contrast Nike vs. Poem

Scared of what we might not be able to do." The Nike commercial relates more to the teenage/preteen crowd. It is easier for the average person to understand. The commercial is about how we do not stand up and try to be different. Its about how we are scared to try something new. It encourages us to "Try something you've never tried." and to "Risk it." It tells us that we should live life to the fullest. The poem "To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time", by Robert Herrick, is a bit more difficult to understand. It is telling the youth that they should live all they can while they can. They will eventually die and age will get the better of them. It says they should use their time wisely and not waste a minute. The Nike commercial grabs your attention. I like it much better than I like the poem. They both have the same theme of living your life to the fullest. They both focus on the fact that we only live once. The Nike commercial gives us examples of what we could do to make our lives better. The poem says that we should take risks and live life to the fullest because we will die someday, while the Nike commercial says we should take risks because we have nothing to lose and everything to gain. .
Both the Nike Commercial and the poem have the same theme of living life to the fullest. They tell us that we need to stop wasting time and do something worthwhile. The poem tells us to "be not coy, but use your time." It means that we shouldn't be shy about taking risks and that we need to make use of our time. The Nike commercial tells us that we should "Risk it" and that we should try something new. Taking a risks are what we need to have lived. .
They both let the reader know that we only have one life, so we should make all the use of it we can. The Nike commercial says that we are "Scared of what we might not be able to do. Scared of what people might think if we tried. We let our fears stand in the way of our hopes".
