Wuthering heights


            Thrushcross Grange is the house where Mr. They both live in the country because they don't like crowded places. It is 1801, and Mr. Lockwood visits Mr. Heathcliff in his house Wuthering Heights. The house is next to the moors. They sit down in the sitting room. Mr. Heathcliff has a different appearance and manner. He looks like a gypsy but he dresses well. In the evening, Mr. Lockwood tries to make a conversation with Mr. Heathcliff during the meal, but he cannot. Because Mr. Heathcliff ignores him. He passes the night in Wuthering Heights, and leaves for home in the morning. It was an unhappy visit. After arriving Thrushcross Grange, he tells his maid Mrs. Nelly Dean to prepare something to eat. During the meal he asks her about Mr. Heathcliff and the people living in Wuthering Heights. Mrs. Dean tells him that she has lived at the Grange for eighteen years. .
             She tells him that she was once their housekeeper, and has a lot of stories to tell. Mrs. Heathcliff, who was married to Heathcliff's son, is the daughter of Mrs. Dean's late master, Edgar Linton. Hareton Earnshaw, the nephew of Mrs. Linton, is Mrs. Heathcliff's cousin. Mr. Heathcliff was married to Mr. Linton's sister, who bore Linton, Catherine's husband. Heathcliff was an orphan. Mr. Earnshaw found him in Liverpool. One day he went to Liverpool for business. There he found Heathcliff and brought him to Wuthering Heights. Mrs. Earnshaw was very angry. She and the children, Hindley and Catherine, did not want him. .
             Heathcliff made good friends with Catherine, but Hindley hated him. Only Catherine and Mr. Earnshaw treated him well. One day, Mr. Earnshaw became ill. The attacks on Heathcliff made him angry. He sent Hindley to college to continue his education. There was not peace at home. Catherine and Joseph, the servant, often quarreled. Joseph was always reading the Bible. He usually made conversations with Mr. Earnshaw on the Bible. Catherine was a naughty girl and she always annoyed his father.
