Four years ago I was just beginning my high school career. I did not know what I wanted to do, or even whether I wanted to go to college. In the last four years my outlook on what I want to do with my life has changed greatly. I know that I definitely want to pursue college-level study and I believe I know what I want to study. These ideas have arisen from my personal interests.
My interests have helped shape my thinking and the type of person I am. My biggest interest is sports. Whether it is watching or playing, I love sports, specifically volleyball. I would like to play volleyball at and beyond the college level, whether for competition or for fun. Because I am always active, I stay in shape, something I will keep up in school and after school. Another of my interests is cooking. I love to cook, because I love to be creative. I love being able to create whatever I want with the food. I do not think I will pursue cooking after college because it is not a profession I want to be my career. My true passion is psychology, something I do want to make my career. I enjoyed psychology when I was younger, and since I took psychology at school, my passion for it has soared. I think the reason why I enjoy it so much is because I love helping people and interacting with people. This is apparent in my relationships with my friends. When a friend needs guidance, I am the first person he or she seeks assistance from. .
On a more personal level, I want to pursue college-level study because it would open the door to many new experiences. I would be able to do things I would not be able to do if I did not go to college. The experiences and memories I would have at college would be some of the most memorable moments in my life. Meeting new people and being able to go places I would normally not have the opportunity to go is very important to me. .
My expectations of college are very high, and I know I will not be let down by my experience.
