My attendance at this high school has taught me many things, not only facts and information regarding schoolwork but about myself as well. It amazes me that I am already going to be going to Plymouth State University next year. It seems that just last week was my first week in the big high school and just last year I was just starting out middle school and going on my nature's classroom trip!.
High school has been a time of many commitments for me and preparing for "the real world" as most would say. I like to say that I am in the real world every day of my life. Each day is filled with things to do that benefit others and myself. Activities range from volunteering at the New London Hospital to being 28th in my class of 143 to being captain of our girls varsity basketball team who won a championship my sophomore year. .
My intended major at PSU is athletic training. I am very excited to pursue a career in something that I have such a passion for. I love sports and I've always wanted to work in the medical field because I love knowing that every moment of my job is helping someone directly. I have spoken to the basketball coach at Plymouth and she is very excited to have me join the team there and I am very glad that I am able to continue to play basketball.
If there is one thing that I will never forget about high school it is how many countless hours I've put into basketball. The sacrifices made to be at this point in my life are unimaginable. Unlike your average high school student I have managed to be on high honors through out my entire HS career, hold a steady job for all four years even during basketball season and volunteer myself as much as possible to others. In my spare time I have volunteered at Wood Crest in New London, tutored students in French, Latin and Math over the course of four years and been a role model for younger basketball players and my younger brother.
