The other example is when Neo is sleeping a message comes up on his computer " Wake up Neo the Matrix has you Follow the white rabbit " this just shows that to get through to the hero they used technology instead of coming physically to tell him , this also shows how dependent they are on technology . If you see throughout the movie they use telephones to communicate for example when Trinity is escaping the agents in the first scene she makes use of a telephone to escape . The telephone is a very important part of the movie because in every scene there is a telephone used to communicate. Tray with the help of the telephone gives them directions to escape. The scene in the subway station is also a good example because it shows how they manage to escape with the help of the telephone and how Neo is left behind and couldn't escape because the call ended , this is a very good example on how dependent they are on technology. One more very good example is Neo and Morpheus when fighting , they do not physically fight but fight through a computer generated game , this also shows how dependent they are on technology . I feel the Quest/Hero Archetype , help's communicate the main message of the film because throughout the movie Neo uses technology and also he shows his dependence towards technology . .
The second Archetype is the Flood Archetype , which I feel communicates the message of the film because the real world is dead , dark and is basically a big wasteland where there is no water , no sunlight . The whole place is like big debris where everything is dead , the reason for this is because human life got so used to having Artificial Intelligence do everything for them , rhey didn't realize that slowly but steadily Artificial Intelligence had started to rule their life and humans were not be able to live freely as Artificial Intelligence governed their life, and human life could not survive because they were to dependent on Artificial Intelligence and were used to having everything done for them .
