Many people go through important times in their lives. In some situations, quick thinking and fast reactions are needed. In a certain situation that I was placed in these things were needed.
It was the day of our high school baseball tournament. I had been anticipating it for the past week. That morning I had woke up and all I could think about was getting on the mound and playing against two of the best teams in the state. Indiana was not known for the greatest baseball players ever, but this was it year that was going to change. After our big wins in the sectional rounds, we were sure we were ready to play two big teams. Finally, the time had come around for me to go to school and get ready for the game. During the bus ride to the game all I could think about was our team making a big upset and beating the number three team in the state. I knew that I was not going to start that game because our number one pitcher was coming off a fresh week of rest and I knew that he was ready to go. With me being the number two pitcher I knew that I was going to have to come in for relief during the first game if I was needed, and if not, I was starting the second game that same day. As the bus pulled up to the field, I started to get a little nervous. My palms were sweating and soon after that my whole body began to get hot. It kind of felt like I was wearing winter clothes on a hot summer day. My coach had come up to me and asked me if I was nervous and like every other person would say I said no. He just told me to be ready for anything and to play as best as I could. .

The game was finally about to start and all my nervousness had gone away. It was more like I was too excited now. As the first pitch was thrown everyone on our bench was up and screaming. Obviously, the other team thought they were going to beat us with ease because in the first inning their pitcher had struck out the side.
