There are obviously as many different personalities as people as it is what defines each individual, and these personalities must be integrated in society for society to work. Each person must learn to maintain a well balanced personality and a feeling of high self esteem and self worth in order to truly live a quality life. All of the worlds riches, as we see time and again in the lives of celebrities cannot ensure a happy life. There is only one thing that can ensure a happy life and that is high unfaltering self esteem, with this no matter the circumstances, happiness is ensured. .
Society today, especially in America, is a melting pot, made up of many different people, with different backgrounds, different ways of life, and ultimately very different personalities. It is good to note; however, that different ways of life and different backgrounds while affecting how a person acts do not have a direct effect on personality as personality can change at any stage of life with no abrupt reasoning. This in mind there are two very basic categories one's personality can be grouped into; the first being a positive personality. A positive personality is not positive in that it is better than another given personality, it simply is categorized positive for that is the view of the person on life. This personality type stresses the better side of situations and is always looking for a silver lining. People with positive personalities are rarely down on life and are often the type of people who have the need to help others, and to give of themselves. However, a positive personality can easily lead to naivety and from there to depression. This is done in that when always looking for the good of situations it is easy for a positive personality to be mislead or misguided, not in life but by life. One always searching for the best can easily find the worst and this is where personality is indescribable, for it is up to individuals as to either fall off and adopt new less becoming personality traits or to learn and become more well rounded.
