Centralization

In 1931 the Great Depression had a major impact on the entire world. The four most industrialized nations, Great Britain, The United States, Germany and Japan were all affected to a great extent. The four nations had some similarities and some differences when dealing with the combat of the Great Depression. The three issues at had for the Great Depression was the unemployment rate, the deficit spending and lastly the support of the people. All of these things were considered to be important to the major industrialized countries but they all chose to handle these things differently.
Unemployment was huge all over the world and each country had to come up with a way for the people to have steady jobs so that their income would go up and more spending could happen in their country. Great Britain and The Untied States both had a very strong opinion on how to stop unemployment so that their nation could recover from the Great Depression. They both wanted the nation to get involved because the government could not do it alone. .
Great Britain wanted to use the resources that they already had to open new markets to the world. This would allow a flow of income for their nation. Prime Minister Ramsay Macdonald says to open up the land and to give of the country rights upon the soil to provide more industry which will in turn lead to more marketing. Macdonald also wanted to provide temporary work for the people by getting money from the government. He says that the nation cannot afford so many unemployed in the existence of the nation and it's the governments job to employ the people of his nation and uplift them, as long as the people realize that it temporary work. His last solution to the uplifting of the people and the nation after the Great Depression is that they need great national effort to carry on work and to increase the programme of public works and to enable more and more men to put more work on hand.
