As the clouds slowly glide across the beautiful blue sky, the warm rays of the sun are allowed to gloriously shine through the tops of the trees, creating a breathtaking sight. Identical to a perfectly painted landscape, trees as far as the eye can see glow a vibrant green with the assist of sunlight. Although, periodically interrupted by the annoying sight and sound of a big steel bird soaring through the air.
The distracting sound of a rooster can be heard in the distance, crowing at the top of his small, fragile lungs, as if the sun rises every five minutes. On a cool, heavy breeze lingers the stomach curdling smell of the house where the winged family lives. Thanks be to the many trees. Whom with their numerous colorful leaves help to fight off and guard the rechid stench from entering my nostrils. Also, to the wide array of flowers surrounding the pond, which shimmers like silver glitter under both the sun and pale moonlight. Their strong essence can be inhaled no matter where you stand about the vast thirty-two acres of green, green grass.
A rather large bald spot in the lawn catches the corner of my eye and reminds me of countless number basketball games played in that exact spot over the course of many, many years. The deep imprints of a size ten, eight, and five shoe are still clearly visible, firmly pounded into the soft dirt, to leave an everlasting memory. Right next door stands an old, rusty swing set, bearing a never forsaking blood stain, which through all the wind and rain, still remains to remind me of a painful childhood memory. Yet, not as painful as that of a tire swing suspended from the branch of a monsterous oak tree, hanging on by its final piece of thread.
As a flock of black birds flutter through the blue, I am reminded of how absolutley amazing this place is where I gaze. It is so sootheing to set and deeply breathe in a breath of fresh air along with the fragrance of freshly cut grass and a cedar porch.
