Movie vs book (Death of a Salesman)

When I was reading the script, I imagined Biff as a washed out football player. From my personal experiences, I've noticed that society labels many football players with the "all brawn no brain" or "jock" description. It is also well known, that many high school football stars graduate, and don't exercise as much, resulting in a large amount of weight gain. When I was reading the play, I imagined Biff to be a more hefty set man with the more brawn than brains image, such as Dan Conner from Roseanne (high school football star). However, movie Biff is somewhat short and scrawny, with very few muscles. In my experience with stereotypes, the actor who played Hap in the movie resemble more of a burnt up football star than the actual Biff. .
Everyone's experience is different when they read a play and then view the movie. It all depends on the viewer's personal experience and the quality of the work. I feel that it is always helpful to read a book and follow it with the movie. However, there have been many instances where I have really enjoyed a book, and have been disappointed with the movie. .
             6. The film and play "Death of a Salesman" followed the traditional plot structure very accurately. The play begins with the exposition by giving a background of the families" life. They first give an introduction into their past when Willy arrives home from his trip. He is sitting at the table talking to himself, while he "pours a glass of milk" (1362), and reminisces about his past. .
We are given a lot of information in this daydream, which clues us into the emotional attachments to each boy, and his admiration of Biff. When Willy bought the boy's a punching bag, Hap feels the need to mention, "I"m losing weight, you notice pop?" (1362), its as if he's craving his fathers affection. The play also reveals that Biff is a football; when Willy is asking Biff "You nervous about the game" (1364).
