There would be no stand still cold war that developed later on because at that point we would be the inferior nation. The fear of not being number one in military tactics, army regime, and just plain old power, was a slap in the face to our country and the heads of our nation at that proposed time. Money talks, that is what got us where we are now. Although the communist party had a power to be contended with, the United States had money and power. .
Obviously if we didn't help inferior people and countries we were no greater ourselves and let innocent people suffer, right? If this never occurred we would have never been involved in the Korean War which was a complete slaughter of innocent American soldiers forced to fight for freedom. Shall we not mention the destruction of our country, and soldiers and families with the drawn out saga of the Vietnam War. That alone was huge enough an error on our part. We now live in a society where we come to all aid of everyone. Who will come to our aid? No one as pointed out in the Sept. 11th Tragedy. .
As for Europe, would we have ever witnessed the crumbling of the Berlin wall. The uprising of communism would become a way of life in Europe. I believe we would be threatened, and never be able to be the nation we are at this time. The United States is great country, with many errors on our part, but the overwhelming sweeping of communism in that time frame was a great threat to many citizens of this country. Fear rears an ugly head and many fall helpless to it. .
After a great run with the implementation of communism throughout Europe I do believe it would take on a structure of the great fall of the Roman Empire or any great nation that came to empowerment. The lack of funds and pure human nature of the desire to be free would crumble it and destroy it which time has proven without interference it will happen on it's own. If we ever learn anything, using a infamous cliché "history unchanged is doomed to repeat itself-.
