6 basic principles of the constitution: popularity sovereignty, limited govt .describe with examples each of these principles.
1)popularity sovereignty-declaration of independence embraced the theory that people form govt to protect their natural rights, and that the powers of govt must be based on the consent of the governed. In doing so, the document justified the colonies" split from great Britain and established precedent for a govt that is responsible to its people.**it has supreme and absolute power within its own territory and can decide its won foreign and domestic policies./us can determine its form of govt. like any other state in the world, it can frame its economic system and shape its own foreign policies.
Government can exist only with the consent of the governed*basis for every new state constitution that principle says that government can exist the function only with the consent of the governed. The people hold power and the people are sovereign.
2)limited government-the concept of limited government was a major feature of each state constitution. The powers delegated to the government were granted reluctantly and hedged with man restriction./holds that no government is all-powerful, that a government may do ONLY those things that the people have give it the power to do.AKA constitutionalism-aka rule of law.
3) separation of powers-basic powers are distributed separated of among three distinct and independed branches of the government distribs among national government, congress*the legislative branch), the president *executive branch), and the courts *judicial branch)."All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a congress of the us- thus, congress is the lawmaking branch of the national govt art II-"the executive power shall be vested in a president of the usa"*pres given law executing, law enforcing,/art III-judicial power of the us shall be bested in one supreme court, and in such inferior courts as the congress may from time to time ordain and establish.
