What is a Sanctuary? According to the dictionary a Sanctuary is: "n 1: a shelter from danger or hardship [syn: refuge, asylum] 2: area around the altar of a church for the clergy and choir; often enclosed by a lattice or railing [syn: chancel, bema]", in other words, a Sanctuary is a place where one retreats to in order to seek solitude, refuge, and it is a peaceful place. It is a place where a person feels safe from any sort of danger. In this case, my Sanctuary is my room. It is the location of the house where I feel I have the most privacy, and it is my place of comfort and safe haven. I consider my room my home within my home, because I keep things that are very dear to me in that area of the house. So join me as I give you a quick tour of my room.
My room measures about sixteen by ten feet, and has a wooden floor. At its entrance is the standard wooden. It has four walls (A, B, C, and D) and two windows. One window is located on the wall (A) that is directly opposite the door, and the second window is located on the wall (D) that is adjacent to wall A. Both windows have blinds covering them. The window on wall A is located on the right of the wall, and the window on wall D is located on the very left of the wall, and on its window sill I have a collection of matchbox sized sports cars (These cars are models of Lamborghini, Ferraris, etc ). Wall C has a two by six feet closet built into it, and Wall B is bare. On the right, as you enter the room, against wall B, is a clear plastic storage bin with a white top. The storage bin filled with old clothes that I haven't worn since I was in my Junior year of High School, which is about six or seven years. The clothes in the storage bin are still in good condition, but I haven't decided what to do with them. In the corner, against wall A and D, is a Queen size bed that is composed of a steel frame, a box spring, and a mattress.
