Nazi Propaganda

For example, these banners were used when Hitler ordered a mass meeting to be held in the heaviest communist quarter in Berlin at the Pharus Hall. Hitler's propaganda director, Dr. Joseph Goebbels spoke at this mass meeting. Many members of the communist party KPD, attended this meeting that caused problems. The KPD party became very aggressive when it was mentioned that people would be removed from the meeting if there were heckling or interruptions. This led to chairs, beer mugs, and tables being thrown at each other. This fight resulted in 85 wounded KPD members, which shows that they were badly defeated by the Nazi party. (350). It is shown on a graph of the "Political Violence in Northeim, Germany" between years 1930 to 1932, that fights and major battles increased as the number of political meeting increased (356). Mass meetings influenced the Germans to see Germany out of Hitler's eyes, except for the Communists, which mostly resulted in violence.
Appealing the Germans to vote for Hitler and the Nazi party was one of the more easy tactics. Germany had been faced with many problems in the years before Hitler during the World War I, which occurred between 1914 and 1918. These problems were frustration due to the defeat of World War I, the depression that occurred in Germany after the war, and the Germans having to restore their country after the war, which put them in an economic down turn. During the 12 years between World War I and 1930 Germany was in a state of prosperity. The collapse of Germany's democracy was a major help in Hitler's popularity status. At the mass meetings and campaigns that were mentioned Hitler promised the Germans that he could make Germany a better country and restore it to the way it was before World War I. He promised "security," "serenity," and "faith" to the Germans throughout this campaigning (354). Hitler also sent these promises to the Germans by means of music and posters.
