Is it morally okay? Even though some people believe it is a needed and beneficial step. I do not see why anyone would even consider cloning another person, producing a human being by replication rather than reproduction. .
In my opinion, apart form the fact that cloning is unethical and morally wrong, there are still great dangers this act could bring. The biggest thing people should fear is the risk of abuse of technology. I strongly believe that the whole act of cloning was not created to help human beings; it was created to make money. If this technology were to get in a wrong person's hands, then I think people should fear for what they would do with it. For example, what would Adolph Hitler have done if there was the cloning technology in the 1940s. Same in present day, what would happen if Osama bin laden got hold of this technology? He would definitely use it for his own purposes. There are powerful leaders in every generation who will seek to abuse this technology for their own purposes. .
Another reason why I think cloning should be stopped is because of the risk in the act itself. A particular worry is the possibility that the genetic material used from the adult will continue to age. This means that a baby clone could be 30 years old on the day of birth. Many attempts at animal cloning produced disfigured monsters with severe abnormalities, same thing can happen in the attempts to clone humans. However, some abnormalities may not appear till after birth. A cloned cow recently died several weeks after birth with a huge abnormality of blood cell production. The most common example of the effect cloning can have is the cloned sheep Dolly. She was cloned from a dead adult sheep using frozen cells and born on July 5, 1996. (Global change) It is said that the cloned sheep dolly was aging fast developing arthritis. Dolly died in 2003 from severe lung diseases and other problems. If there are dangerous results like this, why would scientist want to go on with cloning.
