Remember the Titans

These two coaches were the main reason that a town was united through all the racism that went on in it.
The white and black football players were another major relationship that went on in this movie. Julius Campbell and Gerry Burtler were named the two captains of the football team. These two men were the best football players on the team. At first during practice these two always went at it and fought all the time. They absolutely hated each other but once they went away to football camp they learned to work together and realized that they also had a ton in common. They were not only the best football players on the team but great leaders as well. They ended up becoming best friends. They were big reasons that the town was united and really made it their goal to get their town united.
Football camp was the place where everything changed. Coach Boone decided to take the team to football camp. When he got to the buses he saw the kids had separated themselves by color. The white players were on one bus and the black players were on the other bus. Coach Boone made them all get off the buses and he seperated them and made them sit with their roommates which he assigned. He basically put the White players with the Black players and said one thing they must do is know five things about their roommate in order to be able to play on the team. Throughout football camp the players learned to communicate with each other and develop relationships not just as being acquittances but becoming a true team where they learned to count on each other and rely on each other when they needed help. Coach Boone did the impossible and united a bunch of boys who were taught growing up to hate the opposite color and never to be associated with them.
The biggest problem came when they got back to town and the town was still full of racists. When they got off the bus together talking and getting along the parents could not believe it and started yelling at Coach Boone.
